Waterford Land Trust Walk – CFPA Trails Day Weekend. Saturday, June 1st’, 9:30 to 11:00; walk the Land Trust’s Woodlands Tract, a 54 acre site at the end of Greentree Drive, acquired in 1974 with help from The Nature Conservancy. We will explore old foundations, a pink granite quarry, interesting rock formations, and follow the old, abandoned Pilgrim Road. Walk leaders are Jim Luce and Karen Krohn. Rain postpones to Sunday.
Jim Luce is the retired head groundskeeper of the Connecticut College Arboretum and will identify trees and shrubs along the way. Karen Krohn is an inquisitive plant lover and will identify some of the smaller plants.
The walk is open to all and is moderately challenging. Click HERE or the map below for details about the tract.
