Bert Chenard

Bert is a newly elected (2023) member of the Executive Board of the Waterford Land trust. He is recently retired after a productive research and management career in the pharmaceutical industry, including a 15-year stint at Pfizer. He is the inventor or co-inventor on 63 granted U.S. Patents. His educational focus has been in chemistry having obtained his bachelor’s degree at Central Connecticut State College and PhD from Ohio State University. He is a long-time member of the American Chemical Society and a past President of the local Connecticut Valley section.

Since moving to Waterford in 1986, Bert has been an active volunteer for the town in many capacities. These include volunteer fireman (Firefighter II certified), Waterford Little League, Flood and Erosion Commission, Planning and Zoning Commission, Habitat for Humanity Restore, and Waterford Food Pantry. He was also a member of the Waterford Lions, serving as President for 2 years.
