Dave Lersch

Dave was raised on a farm in Pennsylvania and has always loved  the outdoors.  After  graduation from college, where he earned a B.S. degree in Biology, Dave  joined the Coast Guard where he enjoyed a fulfilling career with various assignments, including protecting the maritime environment.  After 28 years of service and achieving the rank of Captain, Dave settled into civilian life in Waterford, his wife Lynne’s hometown.

A part-time job as a technical consultant left Dave plenty of  time for volunteer opportunities.   Formerly a state chair for Delta Waterfowl Foundation and elected to the Waterford RTM,  he remains a Commissioner of the Town of Waterford’s Wetlands and Conservation Commission.  Dave has been affiliated with the Waterford Land Trust since 2014.

“The land trust offered an opportunity to explore and conserve rural lands for the enjoyment of future generations. As a volunteer and Board member, I found my niche in having a voice about the future of open space in my community.”
