Susan Stotts

Susan Stotts has lived in Waterford all her life. Her career in the Green Industry began when she worked at Holdridge Farm Nursery. It was then that she passed the exam to become a Connecticut Accredited Horticulturalist. Very soon after that she earned her CT supervisory Ornamental and Turf license as well as her CT Arborist license. She left Holdridge Farm Nursery to take a position at Lewis Tree Service and worked there for 9 years. During her time with Lewis Tree Service, she was promoted to General Foreman; the first female to reach that position in the history of the company. She left Lewis Tree to take a position at Eversource (CL&P at the time) and she has been with the utility company for 18 years.

Susan represented Connecticut Arborists as the CT representative to the New England Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture, and she served on the Connecticut Urban Forest Council for a decade. She has assisted the Connecticut Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation for 7 years in their efforts to reestablish the American Chestnut tree. She also is a member of New London Trees. Susan has served the Town of Waterford as a member of Planning and Zoning.

I am so fortunate to have become part of the Waterford Land Trust. This is a group that truly shows how much can get done with a team of dedicated, passionate people. This is what a team should be!
